Abbreviated to mean 4 digits, 4D is a number playing game hosted by 3 main companies in around Malaysia. They are Sports Toto, Magnum, and Pan Malaysia Pools while over in East Malaysia, Sabah hosts the Sabah 4D while Sarawak hosts the Sandakan 4D, all of which play in a similar format.
Typically, 4D is a game of chance, played by anyone and legally by non-Muslims over 18 years of age. You will have to first pick a 4 digit number between 0000 to 9999 which gives you 1 in 10,000 chance with every digit you choose.
This chance is of course expandable where the more numbers you choose, and the more you buy, the better it will be. You can then place a minimum of RM1 for every number you choose, which will then be exponentially awarded if your number is drawn during the day. That means, the more you buy, the higher your winnings will be.
Draw days for Magnum 4D, PMP Damacai and Sports TOTO are held thrice weekly which are on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. On every draw date, there will be a total of 23 numbers drawn of which are divided among First, Second and Third prize, 10 numbers as Special Prizes and another 10 for Consolation Prizes. This is where each category of numbers drawn bring about different prize winnings.
